Do you know the Good News of Jesus Christ?

God loves you.
God freely offers the ultimate relationship. Love is of God. In other words, love comes from God. The Bible makes it clear that we are given the capacity to love unconditionally from the heart when we know and love the One whose very essence is love. Pure love proceeds from God.

But one might ask: "How can a person get to know the God of love? How can a person develop a relationship with God?"
I want to share with you a simple answer to that question. Just as there are physical realities that govern the physical universe, so there are spiritual realities that govern your relationship with God. These spiritual truths are in the Bible. I hope you will seriously consider these truths and discover the reality of a living Lord who can transform your life.

The first spiritual reality is that God really cares about you.
He wants to be close to you. God offers you a relationship that will start now in this life and will last forever if you accept this offer.
Here is what the Bible says:
16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. (John 3:16-18)
7 Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. 11 "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. (John 10:7-11)

Why is it that many people are not experiencing the abundant life?
This leads us to the second spiritual reality:
The reason we don’t know this abundant life is because we are sinful and separated from God. Therefore, we cannot know and experience God’s love and relationship. The Bible teaches that there is a gap between us and God. There is a chasm created by our own selfish condition. Our independence and self-centeredness exists because there is a power called sin that exerts its influence over us. This is true for every human being. God wants to set us free from that power and give us His power and love.  God wants to free us from this sinful condition.
Here is what the Bible says about our separation:
"There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) We were created to have fellowship with God, but because of our stubborn self-will, we choose to go our own independent way, and fellowship with God is broken. This self-will, characterized by an attitude of active rebellion or passive indifference, is evidence of what the Bible calls sin.
We are separated, estranged from God. But God wants to restore us and establish an intimate friendship that will last forever. It is a gift He offers us.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom 6:23)
God is holy and we are sinful. A great gulf separates us. We continually try to reach God and the abundant life through our own efforts, such as the good life, philosophy, religion- but we inevitably fail.
The third spiritual reality explains the only way to bridge this gulf….
Jesus Christ is the only provision for man’s sin. T
hrough Him you can know and experience God’s love and plan for your life.
He died in our place
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:7-8)
He rose from the dead.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time. (1 Cor 15:3-6)
Jesus is the way we get to know God
6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 -7)  God has bridged the gulf which separates us from Him by sending Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in our place to pay the penalty for our sinful condition.
However, it is not enough just to know these truths.  We must individually receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God’s love in a personal relationship.

We must receive Christ
As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name. (John 1:12)
We receive Christ through Faith
”By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8,9)
